This Privacy Policy (the \"Policy\") provides information about why STORENT SIA collects, uses or shares your personal data in connection with your relationship with STORENT SIA as a customer. Please read this Policy carefully.

STORENT SIA cares about your privacy and the protection of your personal data and respects your right to the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data, in accordance with applicable law - Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the Regulation) and other applicable privacy and data processing legislation.

In light of the above, STORENT SIA has developed the Policy with the aim of providing you with the information required by the Regulation.

STORENT SIA adheres to the following basic principles of data processing:

  • personal data are collected only for a clearly defined and legitimate purpose;

  • personal data are processed only lawfully and fairly:

  • personal data are kept up to date;

  • personal data are stored securely and for no longer than is necessary for the fulfilment of the stated purpose or for no longer than is required by law or regulation;

  • personal data are processed only by STORENT SIA employees whose job duties require such a function or by duly authorised persons.    

 The Policy applies to data processing regardless of the form and/or medium in which you provide personal data to STORENT SIA.

 2. OBTAINING PERSONAL DATA

STORENT SIA is responsible for the personal data that the User (an identifiable natural person) has provided to STORENT SIA (by filling in application forms, entering data in applications, contacting STORENT SIA on social networks or visiting STORENT SIA customer service centres), as well as for the personal data that STORENT SIA has obtained in any other way for the performance of its contractual obligations.

  • The personal data obtained by STORENT SIA include, for example, the following categories of data:

  • basic data such as name, surname, date of birth and personal identification number, identity document data;

  • communication data, such as e-mail address, address and telephone number, position in the company represented and authorisation data, preferred language settings. Communication data also includes the content of the communication - emails, letters, faxes, staff notes on the content of the conversation;

  • information related to the customer relationship, e.g. history of quotations made, history of orders, history of rental transactions (equipment rented, start and end dates of rental, address where rental equipment was used, additional services used);

  • insolvency assessment and debt data (including the amount of debt, the start and end date of the debt and other data obtained by STORENT SIA from debt collection or credit reference companies);

  • other data generated in the performance of the contract.      

3. PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA

STORENT SIA processes personal data for the following purposes:

 3.1 Identification and service provision

The purpose of collecting your personal data is to identify you (including through digital solutions such as Smart ID), to provide you with STORENT SIA services, to perform or prepare a contract, and to manage and maintain the customer relationship between STORENT SIA and you or your company that you represent as a manager, authorised representative, contact person or in any other way. The legal basis for the processing of personal data is the contract between you or the company you represent and STORENT SIA.

3.2. Data related to solvency assessment and debt recovery

STORENT Ltd. also processes your personal data in order to assess your solvency. In the event that you fail to pay your invoices on time, STORENT SIA may transfer your personal data to a debt collection company (e.g. BaltRisk) and/or to a debtor register such as the Credit Information Bureau. In such cases, the basis for processing personal data is STORENT SIA's legitimate interest in ensuring the protection of STORENT SIA's interests and STORENT SIA's legitimate interest in receiving payment for its services.

3.3 Data relating to financial records

In order to comply with STORENT SIA's obligations under applicable accounting and tax legislation, STORENT SIA will process your personal data to the extent and within the time limits set out in such legislation.

3.4 Marketing

STORENT SIA may use personal data to contact you, to send you information related to the services provided by STORENT SIA, to inform you about changes in the products and services offered by STORENT SIA, and to invite you to provide feedback about STORENT SIA products or services. The legal basis for the processing of these data is Article 8 of the Information Society Services Law.

STORENT SIA may send you commercial communications about STORENT SIA products and services, marketing promotions and other services. STORENT SIA provides you with the possibility to unsubscribe from receiving commercial communications at any time via e-mail: [email protected].

STORENT SIA may also carry out profiling of your personal data in order to personalise offers and provide you with the most relevant offer content.

3.5 Video surveillance

STORENT SIA reserves the right to obtain video information (video cameras) for the purpose of ensuring the security of employees, other data subjects and property. You will be informed about ongoing video surveillance by means of information signs with the video camera symbol and STORENT SIA's details, which are installed at the entrance to the area or room being monitored. Premises where the data subject has a reasonable expectation of complete protection of personal data shall not be subject to video surveillance.

4. TRANSFER AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

STORENT SIA does not sell or otherwise transfer the User's personal data to third parties.

The data shall be disclosed to those employees of STORENT SIA who need them to perform their direct duties in order to execute the transaction and/or enter into the relevant service contract.

STORENT SIA may transfer the User's personal data:

STORENT SIA's contractors and subcontractors who provide the Service as processors and sub-processors in accordance with STORENT SIA's instructions;

to authorities or legal service providers where criminal or improper activities are suspected;

authorities, legal service providers or other parties where STORENT SIA is required to do so by law or by an order of an authority.

STORENT SIA shall only disclose Users' personal data to third parties that it trusts. In order to ensure that the User's personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable privacy legislation, STORENT SIA chooses its partners carefully.

5. TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE THE EU/EEZ

STORENT SIA does not transfer your personal data outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

6. SĪKDATNES

When Users use STORENT Ltd websites, information about usage may be stored as cookies. Cookies are passive text files that are stored by the internet browser on the User's device, such as a computer, mobile phone or tablet, when using the Service. STORENT Ltd uses cookies to improve Users' use of the Service and to obtain information such as statistics on the use of the Service. This is done to provide and improve the Service. Sometimes the information obtained through the use of cookies may contain personal data, and in such cases this is governed by STORENT SIA's Cookie Policy.

The user can disable the use of cookies at any time by changing the settings of his device. Disabling cookies may affect the functioning of the Service, for example, some features of the Service may not work.

7. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

STORENT SIA will retain your personal data until it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and processed. The retention period for commercial documents, which includes accounting documents and accounting records, is 5 or 10 years.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to request information in writing about the personal data processed by STORENT SIA using the contact details: [email protected]. You have the right to receive one (1) copy of the processed data relating directly to them free of charge. For additional copies requested, the Controller shall be entitled to charge a reasonable fee to cover the administrative costs of such request.

If necessary, you may request in writing that your inaccurate personal data be rectified using the contact details set out in paragraph 11 of the Policy or through the functionality available on our website.

You have the right to request erasure or restriction of processing and the right to object to processing on the basis of Article 17(1) and (2) of the Regulation.

This right does not apply if the personal data whose erasure is requested is processed on another lawful basis, such as processing necessary for the performance of a contract or an obligation that is provided for by applicable law or regulation.

You have the right to withdraw any processing consent that you have given to the Controller. However, the exercise of this right may mean that you will have limited opportunities to receive STORENT SIA services in the future.

You have the right to data portability in certain circumstances, which includes the right to obtain personal data and transfer it to another controller, unless this adversely affects the rights and freedoms of others.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the Data Inspectorate) about the processing of your personal data if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the legal framework on privacy.

You also have all other rights under the Regulation.

9. SAFETY

STORENT SIA's priority is the inviolability of the person, therefore STORENT SIA actively works to ensure that Users' personal data is processed with the utmost care. STORENT SIA takes all necessary measures to ensure that the personal data of Users and others is processed securely and in compliance with this Policy and the Regulation.

However, as the transmission of information over the Internet and mobile networks often involves risk, all risk is borne by the person transmitting the data. It is important that you take responsibility yourself to ensure that your data is protected. It is your responsibility to keep your login and password confidential.

10. POLICY CHANGES

STORENT SIA has the right to change or amend the Policy at any time. The latest version of the Policy will always be available on STORENT SIA's website. The new version shall be deemed to have been notified to Users when the User has either received an email informing the User of the new version (using the email address provided by the User for communication with STORENT SIA) or when the User is otherwise informed of the new Policy.

12. THE RIGHT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT WITH THE SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (the Data Protection Inspectorate). Documents are accepted by the State Data Inspectorate by post, electronic mail (documents signed with a secure electronic signature), or may be left at the 1st floor mailbox at 11/13 Blaumaņa Street, Riga.
