2. What are cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files or other data units that a website stores on a user’s device or accesses when the user visits the website.
In this Policy, the term “cookies” also includes similar technologies such as pixels, tags, scripts, software development kits, browser local storage (local storage) and other technologies that store information on a user’s device or access information stored on it.

3.1. Necessary cookies
Necessary cookies are required to ensure the operation and security of the website, to provide functions requested by the user and to save the user’s cookie preferences. For example, they may be required to maintain a session, authenticate a user, reduce fraud and security risks, save a language preference or remember cookie consent settings.
These cookies cannot be disabled in Storent’s cookie settings because without them the website or a function explicitly requested by the user may not operate properly.
3.2. Functional cookies
Functional cookies allow the website to remember settings selected by the user and provide additional functions, such as certain embedded content or content-sharing features.
We use functional cookies only where they are not necessary for providing a function explicitly requested by the user and only after the user has given consent.
3.3. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how users use the website, for example which pages are visited, how users navigate through the website, how users arrive at the website and whether a specific action is completed. For analytics purposes, Storent uses Google Analytics 4, which is provided in the European Economic Area by Google Ireland Limited. Analytics cookies are used only after the user has given consent.
3.4. Advertising and audience targeting cookies
Advertising cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, build audiences, assess users’ interactions with advertisements and display advertising that is more relevant to Storent services on Storent or third-party websites.
For advertising purposes, Storent may use Google Ads and Meta Pixel. In the European Economic Area, these services are provided respectively by Google Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
Advertising cookies and the related solutions are used only after the user has given consent.
4. Legal basis for the use of cookies
Information is stored on the user’s device or information already stored on the device is accessed on the basis of the user’s consent, unless an exception applies to the specific cookie where it is necessary for the transmission of communication over an electronic communications network or for providing a service explicitly requested by the user. The general logic of such processing is based on the user’s interaction with the website, advertisements or certain types of content. The possible consequence for the user is the display of more personalised advertising or marketing content.

Depending on the specific recipient, these may include an adequacy decision of the European Commission, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework in relation to certified US organisations, or the European Commission’s approved Standard Contractual Clauses and, where necessary, additional safeguards.

Storent maintains an up-to-date list of cookies, which is available in the “Cookie settings” section. The list forms an integral part of this Policy.

11. Google Consent Mode and blocking of non-essential tags
Google Consent Mode is implemented on the Storent website in its basic mode (Basic Consent Mode). Google analytics and advertising tags that require consent are not activated until the user has made a choice in the cookie notice and are activated only if the user has given consent for the relevant category.
If the user does not consent to analytics or advertising cookies, Storent ensures that the relevant Google tags and Meta Pixel are not activated and that data is not transmitted through these non-essential tools.
12. Consequences of blocking cookies
If the user rejects functional, analytics or advertising cookies, the core functions of the website should remain available. However, certain additional functions, embedded content or personalisation features may not work or may be limited.
If the user also blocks necessary cookies through their browser settings, the website or certain functions of the website may not operate properly.
13. Changes to the Cookie Policy
Storent may update this Policy from time to time, for example if the technologies used, cookie purposes, recipients, data transfer arrangements or applicable legal requirements change.
The current version of the Policy is always available on the website, indicating the date of the latest update. If the changes require new consent from the user, Storent will request such consent before using the relevant non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
